    GT Avalanche 2

Hi what are the suntour XCR shocks like on the Avalanche 2? Im not doing anything too hard beginner trails, light offroad. What would be a better option without going over $200?

l had the chance to try out the SR XCR, nothing fancy but works well for its value, much better than SR XCT, XCM, RST T series etc...
Even if you toss in another $200 to the budget l am not sure you will be getting a better fork, most brands will give you better components but not always a better fork.

meh, XCR fork works pretty good. You can get an Av 2 for about $500. My recommendation would be for a Iron Horse Warrior 5.0 (clearance for 700-750) if you can find it. You've also got the option of the 1.0 which is $700 with a slightly better fork. Or you can just try and find a deal on a Tora or something and have the shop switch them out. I'd personally recommend the 1.0 anyway as it has hydraulic brakes, big drivetrain upgrade, and shimano hubs.
