I own a 2004 and currently have the factory Judy front Shock on it. I'd like to replace them as they are only one side adjustable and have no lock out.
What would be a good replacement for this shock? History I have had 0 problems with them and they have been incredibly solid. I'm very happy with them but I'm sure by now they are pretty worn. I ride an average of about 600-800 miles per year. I basically ride on weekend mornings 10-30 miles per ride. Sometimes I go and it's only 8 miles on a single track which is pretty taxing.
I don't jump or do anything crazy at all. I'm a older rider 43 and have no desire to go thrashing like I did when I was younger and road Trick and Pro series GT bikes.
I just got my bike all tuned up and replaced some key parts to improve it. I have a fully upgraded drive train.
I was going to buy a new bike but I like my bike as it's been rock solid.
Any suggestions on a new pair of Forks? 80mm -100mm travel is fine. My friend has a newer Avalanche 2.0 and it has 100mm travel shock on it with lock out. It's a bit tall in the front but I probably could get use to it. I'm not sure what mine is I assume maybe 80mm?
