I asked if they had anymore, and unfortunately I snagged the only one they had.(if they had more I would have sent out pm's to everyone I know looking for one)I don't want to post a link to this place on here because we all know GT will send the flying monkey lawer's squad over to torch the place and make sure this never happends again.PM sent.Might get more, who knows.

Is it medium sized frame? I have to say it looks more balanced than 29er, but still looks a little funky in a good way. Glad you got one.

Few Q's on this frame. Firstly, rear drop outs. Can they be converted to X12?

Secondly, what is the seat tube diameter?

Finally, what BB does it take?

Good thing they changed the finish, that high polish on the 2012-2013 models is a nightmare to maintain.

I prefer the old high polished Ti frames. I can imagine they would be very difficult to maintain. But I'm not one who would bother. I enjoy seeing battle scars on my bike. My only concerns would be death wounds like frame bends, cracks and punctures.

Note: I ride a industrial mill finished Ti Lynskey. I would love to own a fully polished version, but the additional cost was an additional $2000!

Yes that is where peopel have been getting them... there si a thought in the back of my head, get rid of my zaskar and old xizang and buy a new one, get the bonus of newness nd the new feature (discs etc) along wioth the bonus of Ti... but I dunno, that would mean doing it...

The Lefty has for years been stiffer than a conventional crowned fork.

Yay!!! Just got confirmation that my 2014 Medium 26" Xizang is in stock and being shipped to me from Osaka. I had a look at the 2015 Cat. from GT/Rightway, and it looks like the Xizang is cancelled since everything is now 27.5". Not 100% sure, but it looks that way.

I live in Japan now, but I'm from the US and will be moving back within a year or two or three.

Blog Hogs, You won't have the only one in the US shortly... :-)

    Picked it up from Amazon:

Well my frame has shipped via Kuroneko and will arrive this Wednesday. Yay!! Now it's time to order a bunch of Chris King parts and get a drivetrain.

I've heard bad things about using Ti headset on Ti frame. Any comments on that? I've also got a Zaskar frame to build, so I was thinking about getting a Chris King Ti nothreadset and a "standard" Chris King tapered headset, then using the 1 1/8" Ti parts on the top of the Xizang, and the Aluminium on the bottom. The Zaskar would then only have a Ti lower, since Chris King doesn't make a Ti tapered headset.

I dunno, maybe I'll just stick to the normal aluminum tapered headset. I've had them on my S-Works for 15 years with zero issues ever, and they outlast the frames.

Bottom bracket is standard english thread? Width? Guess I'll find out in 2 days.

    Pics to come!

I've also got access to a USPS mail box on one of the military bases here in Okinawa Japan, if anyone is desperate for a 26", they can easily be had. I ordered mine from World Cycles, Amazon.jp store. They are located in Osaka. Price was 213840 Yen (1784 USD Today).

isn't the xizang a semi integrated headset... so the ti won't fit any any configuration? (just a though, don't know for sure).

I thought about ti one for my bike but heard that the press fit ti-ti could end up as a bad thing so I just got an aluminium one, works fine.

I guess I'll find out when it gets delivered tomorrow. I've had a hard time finding info on this thing on the web. Pics to come shortly :-)

So what am I looking for? Chris King Inset? So much has changed since the 90s. :-P

Not sure... I don't think so. if it is semi integrated or "drop in" then I'm not sure CK make one - again happily proven wrong. they did say a while back that they won't make them because thye think they are a dumb idea - personally I love them but I can see the lack of durability being an issue.
If they do make them then it looks like it would be an InSet... but that still seems press fit... where as Semi integrqated aren't (or integrated...whichever is the "drop in")... but that is assuming that the frame is "drop in", which it may well not be.

As with everything biking these days, there a 50 bazillion standards to everything and you can't figure anything out half the time...where as there used to be 2 plus the few oddball sizes.
Used to be 1" roadie, 1-1/8" oversize, 1-1/4" evolution (that had died by like 95/96)... now there is those plus 1.5", 1-1/8->1.5 tapers (I guess thats the size, no idea actially), and you have press fit, integrated (Zero stack) and semi integrated (Drop in) - assuming i got the last 2 the right way around... on every size... and I'm sure there are a few more floating around. so that 3 sizes became 15 in the blink of an eye...

I just fired off a message to them, will see what they say. I haven't seen any pictures of Chris King on this bike, so probably not, but it can't hurt to ask.

Perhaps my Chris King order will only be hubs and BB.

I've noticed on a lot of bikes now, people have steer tube spacers on top of the stem. Why the hell would you not just cut the steer tube?

I have literally been out of the bike scene (for parts and stuff) since the late 90s.

I'm thinking of whatever is a reasonable weight 100mm-ish Marzocchi fork. Colony stem perhaps. Some riser bars, maybe carbon again? Oury grips and platform pedals.

I think the reason for all the spacers is all the carbon steerer tubes, they come long and either the bike is built up so the swap the around for height, or build it up... then either don'
t have the tools, or confidence to cut the steerer... or people don't want to because everyone these days seems to buy a bike have it for 3 days then sell it, so you don't want to cut the steerer so you keep the options of the next buyer...so spacers on to of the stem.
