what, so basically, someone ordered a 29er and GT sent a 26er by mistake and this guy picked it up? Maybe we should all go out an order one and see what turns up...

Ah,I should have scrolled down farther. In the end, everyone bailed when the questions were asked.Nothing was handled, and it was all buried with twice the normal amount of pictures. After lurking that guy's page,it looks like a 26".The cranks and disc don't have that dwarfed by the wheels look and the forks look short.
Even if it is one,it isnt going to help us any. It's the only one on the net.I have GT reps telling me three different storys, and this just means one is lying to me.
Ive been tearing up the net for three years trying to buy one of these things and this guy just "Forus Gumps"into one?
Oh well.Sadly it's just another reminder of what a joke GT's retail system is.

I'm sitting at the factory right now that did these bikes. I just doubled checked the qtys shipped of 26" Xizang for 2012 & 2013, and while the number was less than we had expected due to global shift to 9R wheels, there were quite certainly many, many X more than "one on the net" made. These were mostly shipped to Asian markets. I personally reached out to our Asian-Pacific regional sales manager to pass along your email address & contact info to distributors to see if they could help get you a frame. I even personally emailed one particular distributor with the info.

While the world is a lot smaller due to the internets, it's still a big place and moving products from one market to the other isn't as easy at it seems at face value sometimes.

I'd like to get an Audi S4 Avant in the US. Unfortunately Audi USA doesn't bring them into the country.

Nobody is mad at you ska todd. You didnt say you could get me one.
After three years of looking for one of these, one pops up on facebook and nobody even bats a eye.Nobody even asks the obvious. When I finaly do,Poof everyone fades and it's buried.
The major rub I and several people have is if these are real, why can't GT hook me up with the people who have them?I am more than willing to pay for the frame plus shipping to the US.I have had every e mail, tweet, and facebook post totaly blown off by GT going on three years now. It's almost like if somebody sold me one of these the world would come to a end.

HEY LOOK, i UNDERSTAND THAT 29ER ARE THE NEW BIG THINg (sorry caps), but it would be nice if the cycling industry as a whole, not just GT, realised that its not just europe or asia that might have people that still like 26ers.
Your S4 analogy is not right, you can still buy an S4 somewhere in the world, like Germany and put it in a container and have it shipped over, sure you might not be legally aloud to drive it (not sure on the reg in the USA), but you can still own one.
If you look at how Ritchey handled the P-29, P-Team thing, that was really good.
I'm not doubting that they were made, it is jsut really weird how this cool and expensive and rare bike, just seems to have vanished. None for sale, no one is posting that they have one, except the 2 instances and and dealers don't seem to know where any are.

If they all turn up on wiggle like the zaskar reissue did, I will not be happy. As I gave up and spent my spare cash on getting a 2nd had 1996 version. Cost me $900 to get it to my door in Australia if that helps explain how much I wanted one.

And apart form the demo one for the UK magazine, the only other one around seems to have been accidently shipped.

So maybe next time you guys do something liek this, maybe make a coupel of extra ones to keep at HQ so that when there are people asking where can I get one, you can ship it out to wherever it needs to go.

You could but by the time you"smoged"it,it really wouldn't be worth it.

Anyways,my calafia came frome the UK,so buying GT's from other country's isn't new to me.

Oh well. This went nowhere. In light of begging this company to sell me anything let alone this for over four years,it's time to get over it and find a company that actually wants to sell me something.Im just wasting time with this company.
    Best to everyone.

Im really the only person who sees how ridiculous this is?ANY OTHER bike company would sell you anything they make.If you want high end GT,it's off to sketchy over seas sites, and GT will not help you in any way.
All those people on facebook getting excited about finding WAY over priced jerseys on Soviet sites ect. and getting excited.Check yourself.Any other company would love to have you as a rolling billboard and sell all their swag right off their site,or at all the major sites.Er uh...
I mean everything is fine because three people race down hills weelly weelly fast and America is A#1 with GT...............Yeah,that's it.Just put your head back in the sand.

Your not the only one, oh well it made me buy an old xizang and maybe thats a good thing, cause it's awesome! Better than my zaskar reissue, so who knows if this new one is any good... we'll never know.

And yeah, spend some of that cash on an XC team, grrr
