Can anyone share their actual frame weight of their 2012 Ti Xizang? I'm hoping a size medium will be less than 4lbs ( for frame and dropout only ).

It will be less that four, there's no way that head tube and disc tabs add 11 oz. Maybe six or seven tops. The originals from the 90-99 era in a 16" were ~3lb 4oz.
Needed: 26.8mm XTR seatpost, blue GT/Grundig Jersey.

Reason why I am interested in the Xizang 29er is that I recently bought a Lynskey M390 frame (size medium) and just found out it weighs 4 pounds 5 ounces (1.96 Kg). I'm not to happy with that number... The Xizang is roughly the same price and arguably even better looking.. So I might switch. Now the next part is finding a medium sized Xizang in stock and available for delivery.

Call GT's customer service and ask them they should be able to get you an answer. They have Excel charts with all the info on it per size, Shows every measurement on the frame. I know I have received them before just for asking the right people. Best of luck.

As i originally thought. Use your search engine bro 1720 grams for a medium...that's 3.7919509095799 lbs. Not even close to that tanky 4.5 Lynskey anchor.

Thanks.. I did a search, but that PDF file you shared comes up flagged by my McAffee Antivirus. I try not to view files that are flagged as "suspicious" by my Anti Virus.

    I live in the Philippines.

Again thanks for pointing me to right direction. I am definitely going to switch to the Xizang as soon as I can find one. I've had my Lynskey frame for 3 months and haven't built it up because of so many second thoughts.. I've been riding my Avalanche almost daily and love it so much. And there's some magic with GT's Triple Triangle design that say's "Cool" to me even more than any other manufacturer.

finding one, now there's an issue...
Went to the local gt dealer today just to see... nothin but 29ers here in OZ. Apparently asia is the only market for the 26ers or something...

Anybody know where I can get my hands on a medium 26 inch version of the Xizang, domestically or overseas?

Not the answer i was looking for, haha. Thank you for the reply. Very aggravating that they are not bringing them into the US. Why are they shoving this 29er crap down our throats anyway. Plenty of riders still wanting 26.

Maybe they want them but they aren't buying them. 26 hardtails are a difficult sell right now

If you saw the industry numbers of highend 26" hardtail sales, many of you guys would be sad pandas. It's like vinyl, maybe it's the format for the aficionados but it was usurped by CD (29"), and soon to be overpowered by digital (650B).

With that said, GT did ship a grip of the 26" Xizangs, mainly to Asia/Pacifc markets of Japan, Korea, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, & Thailand. Some also were shipped to EU countries, but many of those orders were switch over to 9Rs as the market moved rapidly to embrace bigger wheels on the continent.

htats what i was told, but when I asked the local rep, he said there were none in asia... its like nobody had any... and so far, seen a few 29ers on the net, but apart from that UK mag that had a 26er as a test bike, not one other 26er, you'd think one would turn up somewhere if not for sale, then at least that had been bought and built up, its been like a year since they came out...

Novel idea.Stop showing people things they cant buy just to get the hype train rolling for the new bikes. That way, people don't waste two years hunting things down they will never be able to buy and move on.

    Good in Japanese?

Well, I'm not sure if this help you (OZ is closer to Japan than Denver...) but these 4 guys have been riding 26-er since May. Riteway is GT's distribution I guess.

Isn't it funny Japan gets both 26 and 29er?

Click around, you will find shops. They are usually ok with English unless you start biachoing about small things, then you maybe out 3,000 bucks

I contacted an official GT distributor/retailer here in the Philippines. They said they have a 2012 GT Xizang 26er in medium in stock.. I will try to visit next week to get a picture to see if the unicorn does exist.

Update.. The distributor messaged me that they only have size 16 in stock. Bummer I need at least a medium or large frame.

Best way to contact them is thru Facebook.
Just do a Facebook search for: Cycle Art Quiapo Philippines

They are a legitamate Distributor/Retailer of GT bicycles in the Philippines.
I can highly recommend this shop. Try to contact and deal directly with Maam Arlene. She is the owner and a good person. Your problem may be shipping out of the Philippines.
