    2011 GT Avalanche 1.0 Disc

Hey! I'm looking for my first mountain bike. The avalanche 1.0 is one of my top two choices. With the 15% off discount running at my store it may be to hard to pass up. Any thoughts or reviews on the bike? Anyone know how it compares to a GF Wahoo (my other choice). Thanks!

Check them both out, but I'm nearly certain the Avalanche 1.0 has better components pretty much all the way around, including a Rockshox Tora fork. I think the Wahoo has an SR Suntour xcm. I'm thinking about a 2010 1.0 at my local Perf Bike myself. With that discount, that's a smokin' deal.

I just bought a 2010 Avalanche 1.0 a couple months back for $450 brand new. Couldn't be happier with the bike. Can't beat it with the tora 302 fork and the deore components

I was initially going to buy a 2011 Avalanche 2.0 disc at performance bikes and the salesman suggested a 2010 1.0 but when he checked the inventory they didn't have any more XL frames in stock. I decided to look around and see what kind of deals I could find. Normally I don't buy big ticket items on ebay but I figured I would check it out anyway and low and behold there was the exact bike I was looking for being sold by a bike shop in new jersey. I set my max bid at $700 and the current bid was at $450 but since the auction still had a week left I didn't think I had a chance at winning so I never bothered to check it again. A week later I got an email saying I won the auction at $450. I was pretty stoked

    Anyways here she is...

I am looking at a 08 Avalanche 1.0 and it has the SR X-100 shock and I here they ain't good. The Bike is like new never ridden for $325 is this a good deal even with that shock.

For $325 thats a fair deal if a 2008 Avalanche 1.0 has never been ridden. But youmight want to inspect every part if the bike. Brakes, brake lines, shifters, hubs and drivetrain very carefully.

Lastly that shock will be good enough for biking around town or simple fire roads. You will probably want to upgrade if you plan to do offroad trails.

    Enjoy!
