1997 or 1998 GT LTS? Seatstay pivot needed.

I am working on restoring a GT LTS 1000. I'm not sure if it's a 1997 or 1998. It has a curved seat tube, but the serial number begins with 0897 which seems to indicate a 1997. Other posts I've read say the curved tube began in 1998. I need to replace the seat stay pivot, so I need to know which year it is. Anyone have experience replacing this part through Ben's Cycle or BETD for a 1998 model? The tech at Ben's said the part they have for a 1997 does match the size I need. BETD is pricey if the part won't fit because I have the wrong year. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd late build of 97, so that would mkae it a 98 model year.
