    Switchgrass after Tgiving?

I'll be heading through KS the weekend after Thanksgiving, was wondering what the status is on the Switchgrass trail and if the campsites are still open there. If it does rain/snow between now and then, how well does the trail hold up?

    Thanks--

Dries fairly quickly. I'll try to post on here if I remember if it does snow. There are some possibilities. As far as camp sites I think they're open year round, but you could check ksoutdoors.com for clarification. People ride that year round so I'm assuming it would be fine. Where you coming from?

The trails are actually better after precipitation. Too much dry weather and they become sandy.

Cool, thanks for the info folks. I'm coming from Dallas en route to Denver and seems like a good stopover.

It's a nice trail, and a bit more like a mini Utah than you would expect based on the scenery from the highway.

I'm itching to get back there asap. I'm in school and trying to find time to get there. Thanksgiving break is possible. Maybe I'll see you there! Have fun nonetheless, and like jmal said, don't like the scenery from the highway fool you.

Something to consider......Wilson has a neat little hotel downtown that you could stay if camping doesn't work out. Wilson is about 5 miles south of Switchgrass. Reservations may help, so they know you're coming.
