Questions for you guys who ride in Central Oklahoma.

I've got what is basically a hybrid that will take up to around 42mm tires and I'm interested in taking it out in the dirt to see if a real MTB is something I might be interested in. What OKC area trail is the mildest and easiest for a beginner on a non-MTB?

Also, what style of tires are best for our soil and riding conditions here in the OKC area? I'm interested in tires in the 40mm range as well as full-blown 2" MTB tires.

    Thanks!

P.S. Has anyone seen a Surly Ogre in a local bike shop? Buchanan is listed as a Surly dealer but they don't have one in stock. I'm guessing other shops that aren't listed as dealers periodically have Surly models on their floors.

Give Draper a try. Plenty of terrain, whether novice or expert. Lots of fun. I personally like the geax saguaros and tioga psycho genius tires. Seem like there is not a general consensus over which tire is best but the saguaros always get good reviews here.
