Are the trails on base (old 12 MOH) still open?

Since the 2014 Sooner Stampede is going to be on 3/30, we're going to schedule the Fool's Dozen in Medicine Park, OK for the weekend of April 5th. Our goal this year is to make it more of a MTB festival and have more events like shorter group rides and a timed race. More info to come.

The old 12 Miles of Hell trails are still out there at Fort Sill. I haven't ridden them in quite a while though. You have to check in to ride them, so it's just easier to ride the trails around Lake Lawtonka.

Clip of some portions of the race course. It's slightly challenging.

This place is no joke - the eastern loop will make you suffer, the western loop is fun as hell

I'm moving back to the area in a few weeks and I have just started mountain biking here in Wichita Falls. I've biked the trail here numerous times. I'm still a noob but I really enjoy riding. I'm excited about the trail in medicine park. How does it compare to the one down here. Can u break the trail up in segments so kids can join or is it kid-friendly? I have a trek hardtail 4500. Will that handle the trail fine? Also it's in need of some tires and misc upgrades. Where's a good place to go get some stuff for it and some advice on what to get. Years ago I remember Terry's bicycle was there. Are they still around? Does the place in medicine park have any accessories? Sorry of all the question but your advice is appreciated. Thanks

Terry's is still here an at the sme spot it always was, also a bike shop on Sheridan called the Krooked Crank, I'll let one of the guys that rides the park all the time answer your other questions.

My 13 year old and I rode the trail on hard tails in April. It looked like there were a couple bail out points.

The boy did fine and is ready to ride it again.
