    How much travel for Omaha

What is the right amount of travel for the Omaha area. Would 5 inches be over kill.

Depends on how you ride or what you prefer. We have everything from rigid hardtails to 6" dh bikes running around on the trails. Know of a few people that just got 5" Treks and they are loving them on the trails.

The fastest guys around are on 29er hardtails and 26er 4" travel Xc race rigs. I ride a remedy (6") bike sometimes, its super fun, but not as fast. Our trails are pretty buff. Occasional roots, almost zero rocks.

Edit: I should say, the Remedy is fun but I can definitely "feel" that its overkill.

My anthem X is perfect and fast. My wife's Top fuel is perfect and faster.

Our trails are tight, twisty, and require frequent acceleration. Head angle and bb height may be better variables to think about.

So a lightweight, high end, 5" bike witha 69 (or steeper?) deg HA and well pedalling suspension may be "better" than a heavy, poorly damped 4" bike.

I find it a bit much from what I've seen so far. Indian caves is really the only park around here that has more than 2 or 3 feet.

Though it shouldn't matter, Buy what ever you like and enjoy the damn thing.
