Flying to St. Louis! Need to rent a bike and ride!
Hi
In Nov. I am flying to St. Louis with a friend of mine and am looking for information regarding trail systems and bike rentals in the area. We have a Saturday as a free day so we plan on riding then.
I am from the northeast and enjoy riding technical stuff as well as flowy singletrack. I am looking for somthing that represents the area well!
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
Paul

The Alpineshop in Kirkwood also rents bikes, they are carrying Specialized now. Check out to Greensfelder Park in Eureka. There you will find plenty of rocks and plenty of singletrack. Gorctrails.com has maps and a local forum, chances are some of us locals will be happy to help.

You'll see a tab for "Trails"
Descriptions and maps of trails in the area.
Castlewood would be a great place to go for a one day visit. If you have a long day you could go to the Chubb trail afterwords......Got chunk?
Castelwood has lots of river bottom smooth trails and then some climbs up into the bluffs for some rock action.
For an EPIC ride try Lost Valley, Matson Hill (my favorite) , and then Klondike Park. These are all connected by a bike trail system. Folks here call it the Trifecta. You'll see the bike connector trails on the Maps as the Katie Trail and Hamburg Trail. It's a great ride that will take you through the town of Defiance (very small) on the Katie Trail that is a bicycle / and motorcycle hangout. Enjoy your visit.

Ballwin Cycles on Manchester is another option. I know at one point they had some Niners for rent.. Close to Castlewood.

I am thinking of going to Castlewood on Saturday (next week). Any local rides out there on that day? Would love to tag along, thanks.
BTW-- Anyone know how far it is from West County Cycles? Is there a trail to get to Castlewood from there?
