Started my mountain biking passion in the Black Hills, moved to CO for 10 years and now I'm back...and I love what the Black Hills has to offer. I've ridden great trails in both states but what the Black Hills has true 18" wide, unsolicited single track. The trails are never crowded and you can ride almost year round. The riding varies from old school single track to some pretty grip-ripping featurs.
It's top notch in my opinion.

Not trying to put down riders from other places, sorry if it comes off that way. I just find it surprising how little there is out there about riding in the hills relative to other areas.

The rider mentality here is a little like DADT. I know I'm pretty clandestine about trails I know the masses don't know about. Not that I don't want to share them, (I will if you want to ride with me) but more about the word getting out and they start seeing motorized or horse traffic mostly I guess.
So don't expect a lot of posts here about favorite trails as you won't see them on this forum.

And as for the local forum...well that's a whole other story.

PS. I like you tag line.

Haha....year old thread but I love the black hills! Born and lived in RC and Spearfish. I have only done a few bike riding trails during a few visits but I have been blessed to ride horseback all over the hills.
