Best places to ride in St. Louis via Metro Link (no driving) ?

Does anyone have any recommendations on cool places to ride in St. Louis other than driving out to the state parks or cruising Forest Park?

I live in Illinois about 5 miles from the metro link, and I plan on taking the train across the river, and riding all day this weekend or next, weather permitting.

You could get off at Shrewsbury stop, ride Big Bend road through Webster Groves and Crestwood to Grant's Trail, ride that down to South County near Union Road and you're a couple miles from Cliff Cave park, there is some singletrack there. Could be a fun day on a bike. Can you get to the campus of SIUE with ease? There are trails there, too.

Try posting your question at forums, lots of local help there.

Thanks. That's exactly the type of ride I'm looking for.

I'm actually checking out SIUE. Unfortunately, there isn't really way to get there from where I am without riding buses for 2 hours, or riding 20 miles each way. Although, that probably isn't too much longer than the Metro.

I'm sort of weary about hooking my bike to the front of a city bus. lol. I don't think they will let you carry them on like you can on the Metro Link.
