Will the garmin 705 work with the new 24k topo micoSD coming out soon?

garmins web site does not list it but it does list the
24k national park topos as being compatible so I'm hoping
that the 705 combined with upcoming 24k topo microSD will be both a
    fitness and exploring unit.
    anyone ?

In theory, yes, it should work. The new info is SDcard based ONLY. The national parks is/was compatible with any unit that used Mapsource. The national parks 24k is available in both CD and SDcard.

I have a older GPSMap 60CS that does not take the SDcards so I will be up a creek when the CA/NV topo map comes out.

BUT I did find a site that works with the existing mapsource program that has AZ, UT, CO and a few other states and is 24K that you can download for free.

    Check it out

They ask for donations, so let your conscience be your guide. The maps look really good. Far superior to the Garmin 2008 Topo.
