VDO Z1 Digital Wireless Altimeter Cycle Computer

Has anyone seen one of these in action? I am very interested in purchasing this cyclocomputer over the Garmin Edge series because I don't need GPS/HR or cadence. I just want to track the total miles I have traveled horizontally and vertically. Would this be a good purchase?

I can't speak for this particular model, but I do own their analog VDO MC1.0+ altimeter and it's superb, and I also own one of their digital non-altimeter DS series computers, and the transmission range is amazing (no problem from the front wheel to the stoker position on our tandem). On top of that, VDO's customer service has been awesome -- better than anything I ever experienced with CatEye.

Based on my experience with VDO, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this unit.
