Strava issues with IPhone...
So I'm tired of my phone losing it's GPS signal for segments I want to do. I would like to just go ahead and upgrade to an entry level GPS to mount on my bike. Any recommendations for one that picks up strava segments for my mtb?

No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everyone on the couch.

none will "pick up" the segments while you're riding. Strava's website will match your GPS track to the segments when you upload.

I use an older Garmin Forerunner 405. It's a watch type GPS, but you can get a handlebar mount for about $10 on Amazon. It can show a lot of information while you're riding and it doesn't weigh much. I'm tempted to get one of the new Garmin 510 or 810 biking models, but the watch models are useful for hiking or running, and some of them can be bought cheaply at REI or Costco or Amazon. Any GPS that can export to GPX format would work with Strava.

I'm considering just getting the Garmin Egde 200 just to mess around with. And it shows all the basic stuff as well. Has anybody ever used the newer Etrex handheld models?? My older one is too out of date and not sensitive enough to use.

The edge 200 is not very good for twisty trails. The sampling interval is not good enough and that model has quite a few reports of rides missing strava segments
