    Polar CS200CAD - Calorie Question

Got the CS200CAD on my bike. Pretty cool features. My question, how accurate is the calorie burnt totals? I've set everything up to my body, age, weight, etc. and the HRM is working throughout the whole ride. My HR stays in the 170's when riding and it said I burnt 1600 calories in my hour long ride. Is this right?

170s seems pretty high unless you are REALLY cranking hard...also, my polar has a VO2 max field. This field has a LOT to do with calories burned. You might check with POLAR customer support. Other than that, yes if you really are averaging 170 for an hour, 1600 calories is about right.

The calculation will take into account the details you entered like age, MHR and VO2 and Activity level. Like citybiker said, VO2 mad is a major contributor to energy burned
