    Oregon 600 battery pack

I bought the rechargeable battery pack for my Oregon 600 because I wanted to be able to charge in unit. Got quite a reasonable performance out of it at first, 12 hours run time after a full charge. Then after 5 charges it went dud and now won't accept a charge at all. Five charges seems a pathetic performance, Does anyone have experience of these and how long they last? Don't feel like buying a new one as they cost enough anyway without dying so rapidly.

Is that the NiMH battery pack on Garmin's web site?

If so, it almost sounds like a charger that is set up for NiCad batteries being used with NiMH batteries. I tried that one in a cordless phone and had a similar experience.

Might contact Garmin tech support if you have not already done so and see if there is some setup thing, like a switch inside or something. Looks like that battery pack is fairly simple, see if you can extract the batteries and either charge them externally or pop in a new set of batteries.
