New to GPS. Managing GPX files.

So Im new too GPS's but not to computers and Im struggling with how the GPX files are managed on the various devices and apps.

    I have a Garmin Oregon 400t.

So on my Oregon unit itself when I go into "manage tracks" I see:

    Track X

Great but when I open a windows explorer and look at the GPX folder on the unit itself I see.

    Current Folder
    Track C
    Track D
    Track E

    No Track X????

So then I go into the basecamp software and look at the iternal storage of the device and see.

    Track A
    Track B
    Track D
    Track X

What is going on here? What am I doing wrong?

I'm guessing you've saved tracks onto the device?

The way I manage tracks on my Oregon 450, I don't keep tracks on the device beyond my current track. I just don't use it to navigate saved tracks.

How are the individual files named in each case? How did you put them on the device? I'm going to suppose at this point that there's some kind of naming convention you are using that your device isn't very happy with, and results in Basecamp altering names. Are there spaces in the names? How long are they? Given the choice, I'd most likely stick to "managing" tracks either with windows explorer or with Basecamp. I've not been thrilled with the onboard management software on my Oregon (for anything...not just tracks).
