    New Garmin Oregon, Touchscreen

I just saw this new Garmin Oregon thats going to be released soon.

It's a touchscreen with preloaded topographic maps and runs on 2 AA batteries for 16 hours.

They list optional accessories, Bike Mount, Heart Rate Monitor and Cadence Sensor.

It's not cheap at $639.99, but it looks like a nice unit.

This looks to fix a lot of the problems with the Colorado (battery life, visibility, water leakage,...), and perhaps make a nicer interface with the touch screen. But let's see what happens once it's thoroughly tested. If if comes through well, I think it's time to upgrade my 60CSx. I may replace the Polar HRM 400 with the integrated version.

They seem to include all the nice features of the Colorado, and then some. It's nice they continue include the picture viewer. You never know when you'll need emergency porn on the trail.
It's not slow, it's doing more MTB time.

Looks like a nice Vista HCx replacement. You know, after I give them a year to work out the bugs and for the price to come down.

Uh, No....Rather, I just got a new HRM (Polar CS400).

Gee, do you think I need to buy every new gadget? (OK, maybe)

Oh, that and I need to wait for the better Oregon or whatever next GPS thingy that actually works.
