New question here. Joule 2.0 and Edge 500: Ditch One and Keep the Other?

I'm trying to make a decision here. I have a Joule 2.0 I've read a lot about but never used, and a used Edge 500 that currently serves me well. I have a power meter on the MTB, and plan on getting one for the other bike within the year.

I think my power meter (SL+) reads cadence in addition to speed, although there's no sensor on the crank-arms to achieve this. I'd like to transfer the Garmin speed/cadence sensor to the road bike and just use data off the power meter, but I'm not sure the Edge will learn the SL+ as both speed/cadence sensor and power meter.

Thoughts? I don't see the point of learning to use a new device if there isn't some overriding quality I can't do without.

The Joule 2.0 has some good points but also a few niggles. If you're happy with the Garmin Edge 500 then I'd just stick with that and get rid of the Joule 2.0.

Your Garmin Edge 500 ought to receive both speed and virtual cadence information from the Powertap hub.
