Any opinions on Lowrance GPS
I am considering the two following handheld GPS units. I am mainly concerned with collecting accurate tracks with a rugged, waterproof, daylight capable screen, and best technology receiver. The two models I am considering are:
Garmin 62 S
Lowrance Endura Safari
The Lowrance looks the best on paper and the street price is less.
Anyone have any input they can provide on a Lowrance. User feedback is hard to come by.
Thanks

Your best bet for feedback on any Lowrance model will be the Groundspeak forums (geocaching.com). They've got a very active GPS forum and I know that some people who post there use Lowrance GPS receivers.
I can't recall anything particularly bad about them, but I also can't recall anything outstanding about them.

Went with the Lowrance. Users are claiming good results with latest firmware.
Thanks

Please consider posting up about it here, specifically how well it works for you mt biking. Folks are starting to want to know about Garmin alternatives and I can't say I've seen anyone using a Lowrance on their bike.

Just ordered so it will probably be a few weeks before I have any hands-on experience.
Big factors were:
1) Uses native GPX format ( in and out)
2) Street price is 1/2 Garmin 62 base model
