Any harm in mounting a sensor to a cyclocomp on the back wheel instead of the fork?

I have to take my front wheel off every time I transport my bike. I was wondering if I could mount the sensor to my cateye I just got on one of the chain stays or seat stays so I won't have to worry about hitting the sensor when removing the wheel.

    Is this possible?

I think it would be fine. Many cyclocomputers use a chainstay. I know the garmin's do and so does the Strada Wireless.

    2 considerations:

if wired: is the wire long enough?

if wireless: is the transmission distance sufficient?

    otherwise, no problem.
