    705 maps, dvd or SD

    im gonna get an edge 705 in a few days but dont know if i want to get the sd or dvd maps... dvd seems nice cause you can make routes on your computer and transfer it to the device for turn to turn directions on the road bike or in the car..... can you do this with the preloaded microsd card

    IIRC sd card maps can't be transferred to computer

    yes they can be transferred with a few tricks

    I've occasionally had problems with the sd cards getting corrupted. From that perspective, I prefer the dvd since I can simply replace the card and upload new maps.

    Be careful. I have CitiNavigator, and Garmin warns that if you load something onto your Edge with CN on your SD card then CN will be overwritten.
