    Warp DS 1

I am thinking about getting a Giant Warp DS1. For $800 the LBS is saying its a very good full suspension bike. I'd appreciate any comments or experience with this bike. good or bad?

it should take a good beating, but is not a good idea if u want to ride XC. Suspention will bob a lot, but will take good size hits (5" travel.) It is also quite heavy if that matters to u.

Thanks for the feedback - it definitely doesn't sound like what I want.

    rkj is right...

The Warp is a great all-around general purpose dual suspension. My '02 DS 3 weighs in the low 30s lbs, so it isn't really all that bad in the weight department. I could drop a pound by putting smaller tires on. It falls in the category of trailbike more than XC bike. I have a DS 3 and enjoy it, can take hits well, no problem on drops. Bobs a lot standing, but not so noticeable when seated. It's a great bike, especially for the price, but if you're looking for XC, the NRS is worth checking out, even though it's a bit more expensive.
    Good luck finding a bike!

Yup... very good all-around bike. A tad heavy and bobber for XC. But for trail riding is excelent for the price. I have a '03 which had a LX rear derr instead of the '04s Deore. My fork is a Manitou Axel which I personally think is better than the Judy on the '04.

This frame like to be ridden hard and fast. At slow pace is .... well, slow. But it comes to life at higher speeds and suspension is very active at any time and does not have a heavy brake jacking.
