    VT crank arm length

hey guys, question for all you VT owners out there, i was wondering what crank arm lengths do you guys have? 170mm or 175mm? i built my VT up so i never had experiance with the orignal crank arms and i heard that the VT has a lower bottom bracket than other bikes. I'm currently in the process of buying a new crankset and i'm not sure if i should get the 170mm version or the 175mm version because i'm afraid the 175mm version will "bottom out" i guess you can say on the ground more frequently. but i'm also afraid that with the 170mm version, i won't be getting as much power with my each stroke. What are your guy's recommendations for crank arm length on the VT?

    Thanks for any help given!

I'm running 175mm XT cranks on mine.

Do you have short legs? If so maybe the 170mm will fit you better.

I'm 5'8" too and have been riding 175mm for years now.

The longer the crank arm the more torque is applied, and that's the reason why so many SSpeeders switch to 180mm.

ah ic, seems like there are no issues with the VT having a 175mm crank and since you get more power with a longer crankarm i'd probably go for that length.

Thanks a lot for the help guys!

I'm 5.8 and I'm thinking of running 165mm!!! The difference of 5 mm shouldn't be that noticable in your stroke, so you can easily go for these!
