Took the Trance for its first proper ride, went to Ladybower (Derbyshire UK) starting from the Screaming mile CP. Not a bad day for it at all! Very very pleased with the bike itself, slightly shorter stem will make it better but I'm not desperate for that TBH. (70mm as regards the 100 thats OE) Goes uphill which is a change! Not bad down either, just need some rides on it to get back into the swing of things more... Anyway, pics:

Just bought it a few days ago. Paid $2400 for it, brand new in box. Came with some free pedals too, brand new as well.

Here is my Trance X1 2013, I stripped all the drivetrain components, original hyrdaulic brakes, stem and handle bar and replaced it with XT/XTR components, 70mm stem and 750mm Easton Havoc Carbon bar.

I finally got around to cleaning the ride and taking some pics. It's a 2011 X3. I removed the front mech and shifters to go 1x10, I found i wasn't really using the granny ring or the big ring.

    -funn fatboy bars, 750 x 35, white
    -sunline v1 stem, blue, 60mm
    -odi/sdg grips, red
    -raceface 36t single ring, red
    -ht an06 pedals, white
    -painted the stock wheels white

hey chad, i just bought the 36t chainring and bolted it on. those are still the stock shimano arms. there's no need to go with a new crankset or bb unless you want/need one. all i did was remove the shifter and cable (remove your grip first). unbolt the chainrings, and remove the front derailleur. if you have a chainbreaker go ahead and remove the chain. i didn't so i clipped the thin metal on the front mech. i think i may have removed the right pedal as well to get the stock middle ring off. then just bolt on the new ring. no biggie. i also had my chain shortened, 3 links i think.

    Hey guys,

New trance owner here. I bought an old and knackered 2009 trance x frame and stripped and had it powder coated. New bearings, a shock service and new air sleeve and she is ready to go.

Geometry is a bit different to the original. The bike has a RS revelation at 130mm and an offset shock bushing. The head angle is 68 deg and the bb is just over 13".

Excuse the crappy pic, I will take some more soon.

I highly recommend 29er than 26 or 650B, its better in climbing and descending. I own Trance X1 29er as shown above, Specialized Enduro Comp 29er 2014 and a Yeti SB-66, I'm currently selling the SB-66.

I'm pretty interested in doing this. I ride on one ring 99.99% of the time. Pros? Cons?
