Talon 27.5
I think I've made my decision. Thinking of going with the Giant Talon 27.5 4 or 5 in a medium. I'm sort of in between a small and medium and my road bike(specialized sectuer) is a medium. I'm going to stop by my LBS Friday after work and order one.

Nice! That ride looks like a great value. You are going to have to change your username on mtbr

Cool, let us know how it goes.

I'm a big fan of the new Talons. Just built some up for stock at the shop I work at and I'm very impressed with the handling and overall characteristics of the bike. Seems to carve turns with confidence, it's very stable and it seems to accelerate quickly. I don't have any trail time, but I want to try one on some local trails. The pricepoint is right for the components on each model, too. Let us know how you like yours!

Thanks everyone. I just need to figure out which size - small or medium. I was originally thinking about Giant Revel, but then saw the Talon 27.5. I'm going to get the black/green one.

I am also looking at a 27.5 5 in black/green. I am new to the scene and it seems like a solid value.

It's an awesome bike. I originally was going for the 27.5 5 model , but since my bike shop had the 27.5 4 on sale it was only $120 more and comes with better components and brakes. Had it for a few days, took it riding 3 times already, went on a local trail today. Have about 75 miles on it so far and i like it a lot!
Very nice bikes !

That's good news. I purchased a Talon 27.5-4 beginning of Jan.2014. The bike handles great; over jumps, rocks, roots, maneuverability around corners is great too.
The bike is sharp looking too. What's good about this bike too is you can upgrade parts if you wish; especially the forks (even though the forks on it are ok).
