Switching from Overdrive 2 to standard taper - What do I need?

Getting a replacement fork from Fox for my Anthem X1 29er. Much better fork than my oem one, it's Float Factory Kashima fork coming to me.

However, the steerer is a standard taper, so I'll need a stem and headset. Stem is easy, but in terms of headset pieces, what do I need to buy? Recommendations?

Just the top half, stick with FSA I reckon, good value, reliable. Or go Cane Creek. Make a $10 bearing press with 1/2 inch threaded rod as below

I am also interested in this. I have a Reign SX. What FSA headset would you suggest?

Thanks for the responses! I spoke to FSA, and this is what they said: FSA Orbit 1.5 ZS No.57 Tapered Headset. I couldn't find a separate upper, so I got the whole thing.

It fits a top tube inner diameter of 44 and 56 mm which is what my Anthem has, I presume that's the normal top tube inner dimensions on most tapered headset bikes?

I also ordered a stem and spacers. Only difference is that my old stem was 8 degree +/-, new one is 6. I had it flipped to negative rise, which means to get the bar equally low I'll go a small spacer lower on stack height. So I should be all sorted. Now waiting for my fork and parts to arrive so I can ride.

What specific model fork did you get? What year, length travel? CTD Trail Adjust? An older NOS RL or RLC? Let us know how you like it.

Did you have the bouncy feel in rough terrain at speed with the Evo fork?

Hi again. When changing from OD2 to a standard tapered fork do I need to change only the headset bearing or also the upper cup?

You need to change the top cup, along with the top bearings. This is why you need a bearing press or need to ask your LBS to press in the top cup.
