    Sizing for Anthem X 29er

    My measurements are
    Height: 67.2" = 5'7"
    Inseam: 29.5"

Judging by the following chart of geometry of the bikes it looks like I "should" be getting an XS....what do you guys think?

I tried the Small at the shop and it seemed ok but the crotch clearance isn't all that much if at all. My jewels were right on the top tube actually even had to tilt the bike a tad to be "comfortable" when standing over.

Size....... Stand over height.......... Top Tube
    XS........ 28.3" .........................22"
    S ........ 29.8" .........................22.6"

I just got a medium. I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam. Stand over, it's tall, a little too tall, but I'll learn to deal. Too tube seem to be perfect length with an 80 mm stem. Cockpit wise, I think I'd feel cramped in the small, but this is my first full suspension and I am basing it on how I felt on my old Rockhopper. Ideally I'd have a few more inches of stand over clearance. Hope this helps.

I'm 5'10" 30.5" inseam and had a Talon 2 medium so figured I'd stick w/a medium Anthem but after riding both the Med. and Lg. Anthem I decided to go with the large. It seemed to "feel" better overall even though I too have to lean the bike a little at a stop but it's not really an issue for me, YMMV.

I ride with a buddy who is 5'7". He demo'd a S and a M and went with the M. I definitely don't think you are an XS.

I size down with giant due to their 1" longer seat tubes. Just my 2c

Also 5.7" inch and did go from a small XTC to Medium Anthem Advanced 29er. Did try a small Anthem 29er but liked the M better, only problem is stand-over height, but after 17000 miles without any problem next years Anthem 29er is also going to be M.

I've owned the anthem x 29 since first model year - identical height/inseam - im on the small -

like many 29ers - standover not great for us - but never been an issue for me... just saying

Does anyone right the AX29 with a zero offset seatpost?

On my zero offset thomson I feel I'm leaning too far forward and I'm considering getting a setback seatpost to adjust the position.

The stock giant posts can be swapped between near zero and 25 offset. I run mine at the near zero. If you feel like you're leaning too far forward, this is most likely your stem reach and rise along with your handlebar and not your seatpost.

I am also 5'7" and went with a small frame. After riding it for a while I would have preferred a medium. Especially if you run shorter stems. I started with a 100mm then to 90 down to 70mm. For me the 70 feels much better in the tight turns and also a huge improvement on descents. After my rant I think you should be looking at either small or medium definitely not XS

5'10" with a 33.5" inseam, short upper arms, and torso.

Tested a medium on the weekend; Advanced 1. Freakin' awesome.
