    Hey, we have identical bike!

I have that bashguard too, may I ask, the bolts that came with the guard, how is it different from the stock ones from the ride xc?

I broke my ride xc stock chain ring bolts when I install the race face bash guard with the stock bolts, I bought the guards without bolts.

I need a bit of advice, I have a reign (2008 i think) and WAS running Suntour Rux 130mm forks, I just picked up a pair of RS RECON 351's off ebay, they were advertised as 140mm travel, I looked in to this and it seemed ok. They arrived today and they length of them is the same as my Suntour and the air/weight setup chart on the fork gived settings for 80-130mm travel. I did think maybe keeping them because they are a lot lighter but holding them next to the bike it looks like I would lose about an inch in height and therefore a tighter head angle too.

    any advice please?

Unless your riding lots of tight singletrack where such a steep HA would be preferable I'd say nay...

Contact the seller and let them know it's not what they advertised ASAP. Maybe they have a bike shop, or lots of inventory and didn't realize the error. (it happens) Did you pay through Paypal? Cause they'll help you get the fork returned if the seller doesn't do it themselves.

Also, if you got a good deal on the fork than you could try selling it yourself on E-bay and possibly making money on the deal?

Hate it when your waiting for something in the mail and it ends up being the wrong thing!

But you'll probably be happier in the long run if you pass on this fork and get what you wanted in the first place IMO.

    Thanks stiingya,
I've sent a message to the seller, it was a private seller and he had "no returns" on his description, but he did clearly say it was a 140mm fork.
I'm not keen to drop the head angle, I appreciate if I go from 130 to 140 it might raise it but the suntour forks have a very chunky crown which takes a lot of space so it may not be a big deal...I just don't want to go the other way.
    Cheers for your comments.

Thanks, mate. Happened almost accidentally as I swapped parts of my old 07 reign to the frame. Also touch of red allover.

At 200 pounds I ride it with 180psi in the main chamber and 175 in the other. RP23 needed 230 psi.

you can beg all you want, it won't make it different! jkn...

what don't you like? It's a continued refinement of the last frame, and their probably not gonna be able to squeeze much more .light/stiff/strong out of this suspension set up without going carbon.

SO I expect them to go Carbon with this bike soon...

Well you do have a point there, last years RX they threw the neon accents on the high end model and the lower end bikes were more reserved looking. You'd think that would be backwards to their customer buying demographics. You'd think they'd throw the neon on the less expensive bikes for the younger crowd and then keep the high end bikes a bit more reserved???

Me, I likes the neon splash! But seems like a good many R XO buyers took the green stickers off last year...? Be interesting to see the rest of the lineup.

I like neon accent too, even better if its neon green on the whole! Getting tired of the "regular" colors.

Man, the Demo 8 in neon green is really sick!

BUT, the neon green accent in this reign is kind of mismatching.

there are two problems with this bike and both are obstructing what I feel is the main focal point-----the toptube downtube junction. I really like the look Giant has achieved with that design, but with this bike they obstruct that sexy thang with cables and the giant logo.

I see great bikes here!! I just got my first giant bike, its a 2000 rainier is in good condition couple of chips in the decals but that's about it, and it needs new tires since the michelin that it has are kind of cracked from the weather. I got it for $140
