Reign '13 Rear Shock advice needed for 225lbs guy

So I purchased a used '13 Reign 2 that came with a Fox dhx RC2 (7.875x2.25) to get the extra travel with a 450lbs spring. I'm 225-230 and blowing thru this thing like no other. The obvious choice would be to order a 600lbs spring or heavier to compensate however I think I want to get an air shock to be able to lock it out.

About me: I just got back into mountain biking after 7 years off and this is my first FS bike. My riding consists of cross country and more aggressive trails with small jumps as my skills build up. With that in mind I'm thinking this coil is too much for me maybe as I'd like to be able to lock it out and pedal some distances. Honestly, I don't know sh*t about shocks so on to my question. What is a good value air shock that could be recommended for my weight/lockout ability? I'm fine with going back to the 2.0 stroke. I'd imagine with my weight I may need to get it tuned by PUSH, but was hoping to not have to incur the cost if it can be avoided.

    Thanks

Since my post I've been reading up some in the Reign modification thread and it looks like due to the 3 to 1 ratio of the rear shock air may be out of the question for me. I've used the coil calculator and it looks like for my weight a #600 spring is what I need. Before I go off and buy a spring could someone double check the below is correct for my RC2?
Fox Shox Spring Dhx/Van 2.0-2.5 Stroke > Components > Forks > Springs | Jenson USA Online Bike Shop

Anyone in the 225-230 range have experience with a #600 coil? Or have you gone bigger?
    Thanks

    I have just replaced on Giant reign 2013 XO a DHX5.0 for a 2014 DHX RC4
    It was 7.875 *25.2 or 200*57 I weigh @ 85 K and I put 600*25.2 spring on

I'm not quite your weight (200lbs in my B'day suit) but just recently fitted a used RP23 XV to my Reign X2 (200x57). I had previously had the oem Rocco R/TST coil shock fitted with a 550 spring and it was using up all the travel with poor rebound control (then it blew its main shaft seal) . At 1st the RP23 was using most of the travel too easily with +230psi until I did the XV shim mod DW 5 Spot RP23 mod . Its now more progressive and down at ~210psi though I'd say maybe best avoid any XV or Large Volume air shocks in the 1st instance and if they were more common used here I'd have probably looked at a R/S monarch as there seem to be issues with RP23s that aren't user serviceable (air in the main damper causing squelch noises and possibly poor damping if the oil aerated)
