Rear hitting the seat tube on a giant reign with 2.25 stroke shock

I just tried fitting a 7.875 x 2.25 shock on my medium 2010 reign. On full compression, it hits the seat tube and with about .2 stroke left it hits the front derailleur cable. Anyone else run into this issue?

I have an '08 reign, using a caliper, I found I have about 0.1" of clearance from the seat tube at full compression w/ a 2.25. The issue i'm trying to deal with is that when running a front derailer, the rear triangle COULD run into the interrupted FD cable.

Did you have the shock mounted or were you just measuring distance differences of the shock mounts?

I have it mounted and it definitely hits the fd cable. When I let out all the air and fully compress the shock, it pinches the fd cable against the frame.

what size tires are you running? Perhaps you are running taller tires than dullertap?

Also, since you have a 2010, I would think that the front derailleur would make contact with the swingarm or/and lower link at full bottom out. you might want to check that as well.
