    Is puting a '03 Z1 SL on a VT a good idea ?

Anyone rides this setup ? How does it handles and climbs ? I'm curently riding a '02 psylo xc, and want something stiffer, more tunable and with better damping, and definitely much more durable. I weight 150lbs, 160 with gear.

I wouldn't do it. The fork is great for freeride but it's too heavy and the extra front travel will make the front end nervous while climbing.

If you look on the postings here there was a discussion about the nervousness of the front end with travel over 120mm.

    My fork suggestion will be:

Manitou: Minute 1 or 2, Black Platinum or Super
    Fox: Vanilla or Talas
    R/S: Psylo SL U-Turn

FWIW, I used to ride a Psylo SL and now run a Black Super at 120mm.

I have bad experience with psylos, bushings and seals dont last, also i would really prefer on the fly geometry ajustability that z1 sl have.

I dont want minute or black as i feel they will be not as tough as psylos for big hits. Alsow the geometry adjustability is a must for me, and manitou adjustability is imo inferior to that of psylo.
TALAS would by my choice, by again i dont think it can hold up, as i plan to do some light freeridng as well as trail riding with my bike.
Vanilla does not have external travel adjustment so it will be a nightmare for steep climbs.
So this is how i came up with z1 sl, i'm also thinking about maraton 120mm with eta/ecc.
