No matter how hard I try the only thing that seems to get dirty is the chain. Lol, also the great weather in north carolina we're having equals less mud and water to ride through

My barely standard 2012 Giant Revel 0ltd.
Rides like a beast, the handling is beautiful. Not bad for 50 off Facebook (bloke wanted my Mongoose Primo, swapped that and 50 cash for it)

I love it. I swapped out the stock fork for a Recon Gold ($238) and put some pedals on it. Other than that, it's stock. The bike is great. It's super fun to ride (aren't they all?) and it's a great bang for the buck. It's an entry level bike, but it's spec'd out pretty nice for the price point, and it only takes a couple of minor upgrades to make it a whole lot better. Plus it's a nice frame, so you can always upgrade parts down the line if you want.
The only thing I really want is a wheelset. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a set of Bonty Race X-Lite wheels (used) for $350. Would make a huge difference. But overall, solid bike for the price.

I really dig those bars. I been thinking about moving away from my stock flat bars. They are real stable on climbs and handles good and snappy. I don't typically change parts till they break but after about 12 miles my back starts killing me. Didnt have that problem until I got this bike. Then again I wasn't riding as far on my 26 in cannondale. Maybe a 1in rise will help

    Just finished this build.

I paid $30 for an older (2004'ish) but cherry Giant Rainier HT frame that included a custom billet Titus crankset that is buttery smooth. I rebuilt and refinished a Rockshox Duke SL 100mm fork I had and fitted all the bits I had in my supply to assemble this bike to use exclusively as my road trainer. I'm loving the new Kenda Kross Plus tires that I just threw on.

XT front and rear, LX Shifters, Juicy 5's with 185 rotors, DT Swiss 430 wheelsets off a Specialized Stumpy Comp. Raceface stem w/Specialized bars and Body Geometry grips which I'm loving on the road! Only thing I had to spring for was a new headset. It was just easier so I put a Cane Creek ZS3 on it.

It's DH because the bars say so.

PUSH'd seat tube for added plushness .

    .
Did you do anything to the paint? I have a similar frame, xtc 29 composite 2012.. Im trying to personalize maybe with some gold anodized parts. The thing is my frame comes with a neon yellow trim. Which I happen to like also, but I think it wont match gold color on the parts..
