I ride a 2004 XTC2, and was wondering what size seatpost I need so I can ditch the Shim? I will probably get a thompson.... also.... do the VT's, NRS's and even AC's all use the same size seatpost??

I believe it is a 31.6, as I was going to do the same thing before I got my VT and put that frame in storage, and had a shop measure it. I know that my VT will take a 30.9 Easton

    Try this...

Pop the shim out, it should have 2 numbers on it. The lower number is the inner diameter of the shim, the higher is the outer diameter......the outer diameter is the seatpost size youre after to be able to ditch the shim
