    NRS ait NRS1 and NRS2

Own a GT avalance hardtail currently. Been looking at getting a FS bike, reviews on the NRS range looks very good. But, what's the differance between
the NRS air, NRS 1 and NRS 2? And is there any other NRS models out there?

NRS air has a carbon frame, XTR/XT drivetrain, crossmax wheels -- it is the high-end model. NRS 1 and 2 are aluminum bikes. NRS 1 has XT components, NRS 2 XT/LX. There are other differences as well, but it sounds like you want something general--the NRS air is carbon with better componentry, the NRS 1 has better componentry than the NRS 2. There's also an NRS 3 with lower componentry than the 2. This info is based on the '04 models. Obviously, the NRS air will be the most expensive, followed by the 1 then the 2 then the 3.

Hope than helps. Also, the NRS is being kept in '05 as pretty much a race-only bike. Giant has come out with the Trance which will replace the NRS for most recreational riders--4" travel, and more plush than the NRS. There are 4 models of the Trance. I think they will be out at the end of November, so depending on what kind of ride you are looking for, you may want to wait to check one of those out.
