Hey guys! I'm posting for a friend who just purchased a brand new trance X2. Right after his second use, the crank started to make heavy cracking noises and knocking... It seems that the noise comes from the crank as it happens only when he pedals (adding weight to the crank). With the bike stationary sitting on it or trying to bounce it on the ground will not make these noises...
I believe the bearings are shot... Anybody had experience with the same kind of problem?
what ^^^^ said. I put on new pedals on my trance x2 and after the first ride was getting a creak I never heard before. Tightened up the pedals and the creak went away.
I have a new X4 and I had to tighten my pedals and my crank arms within the first couple of rides about a month ago. I finally put lock tight on the crank arms.
I'll ask my buddy for the outcome, I did not ride in a few days so I dont know what happened, but last time he was saying that he would bring his bike to the LBS... Loose pedals might be it.. Tough to know until you take the tool box and fool around a bit.
