New question here. New STP1 frame for $350?

I broke my Rainier frame yesterday. I'm the second owner, so no warranty. My buddy has a brand new STP1 frame he wants to sell for $350. Is this a good deal? And is it significantly stronger than the Rainier?

    Thanks

Ummmm I'd say go for the deal but keep this buying something form a friend can get a little hairy sometime.
Such as when there an crack in the frame he didn't tell you about.
Normally I try to stay away from buying **** from friends.

The frame is actually new, never used. Paint isn't even worn off in the dropouts.

Definitely STP. STP frame is light year stronger than Rainier (actually those frames are incomparable). It is also very versatile, you could use it for almost anything from dirt jumping to freeriding. Chain stays near the bottom bracket is CNC'ed for extra strength, also left seat stays got the extra gusset for added stiffness. I do have two STPs for about anything! Don't be hesitated, just take your friend's STP. I'm curious though, why your friend don't want to use it.

I bought it for $320. He has a different bike he uses for DJ and such. He cracked his STP frame a while back and got this one on warranty. I'm not too worried about breaking this anytime soon though, I don't ride nearly as hard as he does. He will deal with warranty issues if anything comes up though.
