Mavic Crosslands or Mavic 317 w/ xt hubs

I planning to get a new pair of wheels for my nrs.I currently have sun rhyno lite w/ deore hubs and wishing to upgrade. I dont want to dish out the money for a set of Crossmax because I'm afraid that I'll break them. Or if you can suggest any other rim and hub combos.

    Thanks

    Shameless plug

I have a set of Crossroc discs that I may part with...I just got a VT1 and will keep the Crossmaxes. They are only a few months old and in great shape, email me if interested...I had a set of Deore disc\Rhynolites before and both of the MAvi sets I have are a very noticable upgrade

I've got some crosslands and love them. Pretty strong...I'm 200 loaded and beat them like a red headed stepchild. they hold up well!

i am thinking about it too~~
there are two options for me.
    the mavic 2004 crossland.
or the xc717 with 2004 xt hubs.
i am going to use disc brake. which one will you choose?

I went with the Crosslands cause I have an option to go ust and I got them for 176 shipped for both at performance bike. I think the new 2004 xt hubs is where you lock the rotor in the center. So you'll have to use shimano's disc system. I'm not sure if there's an adapter to make it an iso.

yes, you are right~ the 2004 xt hubs is using the center-locking disc. but it is not necessary to use the shimano disc brake system. others disc brake system will work fine too~

about the price, in hongkong, both the xt hub/xc717 rim/dt competition are the same price witht the crossland. so it is really hard for me to choose. crossmax xl is around 400 usd, nice bet for me?

If you have the money GO FOR THE XL. Man I want those. The cheapest I've seen the XL disc is 550. Well if the it all comes down to if you want to go tubeless or not. I dont think the xc717 is tubeless (reason why I went with the crosslands).

I say, go for the XL disc or XL v-brake and buy it all co's cheaper there than other countries
By the way, what's the shop called in Hong Kong and do they have a web site?
Seems to me Hong Kong's the place to go shopping in everything, not just bicycle

    unfortunately, the shop doesn't have a website~
shops which have good deals are all located in the new territories.
