Hi. I recently sold my 2010 Rockshox Sid World Cup and started looking for a nice Fox fork, so could have a Fox rear / front shock combination. I bought a 2010 Fox 32 series remote fork, but upon realizing it was not the newer FIT damper series (open bath design) decided to return it and came across a very nice Fox 32 series tapered FIT remote fork (which required a Cane Creek external lower bearing conversion) with came of a high end ($8k) 2011 Trek Top Fuel 9.9 SSL. (I liked how nice the custom decals supplied by Fox on OEM Trek forks would match with my Crossmax SLR wheels)
I noticed a slight change in the goldish color of the 2 forks and wonder if the tapered one has or not the Kashima coat, which started being offered by Fox on 2011 (The Trek is a 2011 model, but obviously the fork could be from 2010 since the FIT damper version from Fox started in 2010). Other than calling Fox with the serial number, is there a way to know if the fork has the Kashima coat or not? I know the 2012 version does says kashima on the legs but wonder is that is the case on the 2011.
Thanks!
