It's not too early! Giant in 2014?
Just for fun…..Does anyone want to speculate what we will see from Giant in 2014?
Of course for 2013 their big intro was the Trance X 29er which has seen some great reviews so far from the media, and is getting some really nice ride reports from actual owners as well. Great to see for sure if you are a fan of The Big G!
But what kind of noise do you think Giant will bring for the 2014 model year? Is 650b on the table at Giant yet? Or will they hold off and ride with the 29ers for a while?
2014 Giant Reign 27.5 anyone?

650b Reign with a slacker geometry (66-67 HA) that replaces both the Reign and Reign X possibly with a carbon option.
Carbon Glory.

Trance X29C (carbon) and a Trance X 29 '00 US version (because they already have it in Australia). Oh, and a new TdF sponsor since Rabobank bailed.
I love it when a plan comes together.

Wow, didn't know they had the 00 version! Nice! I like it, the spec and the paint too!

I'm with some of the other people posting on the 650B. I would be interested in either a TranceX 650 or a Reign 650, but must be slackened out some. The Reign at 66 degrees and the TranceX at 66.5 or 67.
I know some folks already are running 650 on Reign it does seem pretty tight on the back. Maybe a current TranceX with 650 front and 26 on the back would provide some of the benefits of rolling a larger front wheel and also slacken out the bike a bit up front. Just need a Fox 34 or similar 650 fork.

Would like to see AnthemX 29 with 17.9 chainstays and lower standover, ala the Trance 29. That would make my size Large have a wheelbase around 44, make it easier to manual/pull front wheel, and turn better in the tight stuff. Rode a SC Tallboy Carbon recently and realized it had great geometry with short stays, short wheelbase, and great standover. Didn't realize until recently that Giant made the stays on the Trance 29 shorter than the AnthemX., so I hope it is a possiblity. All reviews I read on the AnthemX29 all mention the long chainstays as a negative. Must say I love the reasonable prices Giant offers, and I like my AnthemX29 in most situations, just think it could be better.

jps, that is my one complaint with my Anthem......it won't manual. I know, I know, maybe it's me. But with it being a 29er and the long chainstays, getting the front end up is a biatch. That is why the Trance is so appealing I think, is that has more of that "trail bike" aspect to it.
I get to demo a Trance 29er on Saturday actually, on some real trails even. I am looking forward to having a go with it.
Great posts guys! Keep them coming! You never know if Giant reads these forums for ideas from real comsumers. Tell them what you want to see in production!

It might be you, but it's not just you. I'm glad it's not just me either. I can't manual my Anthem "just because" - I have to have a little help from the trail. It can be done under certain circumstances, but in my view, that's not really a manual.

More shocking colours and graphic designs are the only thing thats a cert at this point, the graphic designers in first year uni are probably nutting them out as we speak and giant will select the worst ones to use on their bikes.......

The good thing about this is if you crash and are immobile a helicopter can easily spot you.
I love it when a plan comes together.

More availability on frame sets and better prices 1400 for a AnthemX frame or 1800 for full bike really?

This, or someone else will get my hard earned $$$$.

Giant? Are you there? A 650b Reign is being asked for. Could you please make one for us? That would be great. Thank you!

Definitely a trend here, even in just a few posts.

I agree that there will most likely be an Anthem Advanced SL X29er. The rear tri will be carbon but no other change.
I also agree that Giant will go carbon across the board, Glory, Reign and Trance. I don't think Giant will jump on the 27.5 bandwagon yet.

my best guess is
- at least a composite (possibly an advanced) Trance 29er
- 650b Trance
- 650b Anthem

anthem x 29 with shorter chainstays. redesigned rear like the trance. liven the handling up a tad. what i'd like to see

I don't know, silentfoe, I'm guessing a 650b Reign but not a 650b in shorter travel bikes (Trance, Anthem). I would think a carbon Trance 29er, but I would think it would be like the Anthem and have an ALUXX rear triangle.

Why does everybody seem to think a 650b is coming? i doubt it very much....

Don't you think those very same words were said about a 29er too? I bet so, and look where we are now. I would guess that the big boys may come to the table a little later, but they'll all be there eventually. It may not be 2014, but it will be shortly after I would guess. My $.02 anyways.
