How is your XTC Composite holding up?
I posted this in the general "29er Bikes" forum but didn't receive any replies, so I thought I'd ask here now as well.
I'm looking at both the A9C and the Giant XtC composite for my next frame, and I'm wondering how riders of both are doing in terms of frame durability.
I've beem very impressed by my carbon road frame over the years, but the average MTB frame will see more direct impacts from rocks and other hard objects, so I wanted to pop in and ask you fine folks this:
Anyone had any durability issues with their XTC Composite frame?
I an riding one for 2 months. It has some 35 working hours, mostly hard off road use so far, no issues on frame.
Frame looks severly overbuilt.
also - hidden places - droputs, BB shell (alu insert), top part of seat tube all are well built and frame seems that it can survive years and years of abuse.
I did quite a lot of market research before I got one, and could not find a post on cracking, problems or any issues with the frame. Lifetime guarantee and price point helped in my decision over Scott.
Anyway, so far so good, bike fits me like a glove and rides like a dream..
