    horrible SID whistle

The rebound damping is whistling like bird every time its actuated. Its nice to know that the shock is working but...the squeak is just downright embarassing. How can I fix it? Its only on the UPstroke of the shock, its sounds like air rushing through a pinhole and whistling.
    thanks,
    George
the shock is working well aside from this annoyance.

Had the same problem on a recently replaced under warranty SID. Rockshox replaced the replacement.
It is annoying to hear that thing squeak.

does the new one feel the same? look the same? WHISTLE the same? I cant believe how ridiculous this thing sounds! Have they gotten their SID rear shocks to perform better since they were reviewed so badly last year? Should I attempt to get it warranteed or rebuild it?
    thanks
