Does anyone know where I can find geometry info on the VT frame? I was curious what the effective top tube length is for a 18.5" VT? Help will be appreciated. Thanks.
No they arent. Look... 127mm = 5 inches. Everything else matches up as well. US Spec just goes by our crazy standards, Aussie and everyone else goes by metric. No biggie. The reason the angles are different is because we are looking at different year bikes.
Aussie VT - 2004
Edit: Nevermind... angles are different (72.5 - 73.5). I am curious as to why as well...
After a whole season of riding, I feel that my 18.5" Giant VT is too small for me. Moving from a race-geometry 19.5" Fuel 95 last year, at first I thought that the VT was just a different type of bike. I'm about 6'0 to 6'1 and the cockpit feels too short, and I feel cramped. I could get a setback seatpost and maybe a longer stem, but would that solve the problem? How would that compare to getting a larger frame? Thanks.
6'1" on a 18.5" frame? No way... that is way too small for you. Sell the frame and buy one your size, 20.5" ...great deals, around 300$ for the frames. You may only be able to sell it for a couple hundred, but getting a bike that fits is extremely important if you want to enjoy your rides.

I just got an 18.5", and the top tube measures only 21.5" !. I tried to measure the top tube every way I could... center to center, virtual, etc., and I can't for the life of me figure out how Giant got 23.2" TT on an 18.5. I'm 5'9" and I need to push my seat way back or it feels too cramped. Once the seat is back it fits great. I think they possibly welded a TT from a small frame on my bike... That's probably the reason I was able to buy the frame for $299 new .
