Giant Trance X2 Chain length question

    Happy New Years everyone.

I have a Giant Trance X2 that I purchased recently (used). The rear cassette was worn out and damaged so I changed that along with the chain. I measured the teeth on the old chain vs. the new one and removed about 3 links. Turns out the "old chain" was to long to begin with...

So does anyone know how long the chain should be? I have searched this forum and others with no answer.

    best regards

    Easiest method:
Put chain around biggest chainring in rear (outside of derailleur) and biggest chainring in front and add two links (this to enable rear derailleur to work when using this (not really usable) combo. A shorter chain is possible, but may result in damage when using "big/big".
