giant stores in bangkok
looking to set out for a trip in the himalayas, and in need of a good bike. Actually it doesn't have to be a giant, but US imports are too expensive, and chinese too crappy.
Thanks for the help
Try "Pro Bike", across Sarasin from Lumpini Park by Brown Sugar.
Also try "World Bikes", in Lard Prao on Pradat Manutham near Tesco Lotus, and "Bikes", on the west side of Na Na Nua (Sukhumvit 3) south of the Saen Saep bridge.
Go first thing in the morning; be there when they open if possible.
Smile a lot and be friendly, but bargain ruthlessly.
Let me know how you make out!

..of the masses..
worldbike is the giant/sram dealer for thailand. the name of the guy in charge is Mr Munkun. he is a decent enough fellow, speaks english. give him a call: 02 946 4117/8/9 or 02 510 9892/1041
that is if you are calling from within thailand of course. if you are in the US or somewhere and want to call the fellow before you make your trip replace the 0 with +66.
its a nice shop. i live far away from bangkok so have dealt with him only a few times, but Mr Munkun is very helpful and willing to spend time with you. Probike is the GF/Trek dealer, if you want their number let me know. also there is an exclusive cannondale shop in bangkok, but i dont like the woman who owns/works it.. bah. there are other shops too, one selling specialised but probike and worldbike should be good enough for you. it is easier to get to probike than it is to worldbike if you are within bangkok... anyway man, have fun on your trip!!
