Giant Reign rear shock question ...

I have a 2011 Giant Reign 1, it came with a Fox RP2 Boostvalve w/ XV Sleeve. I measured the i2i and i measured a 7.875 but when I measured the stroke it showed about 2.25. But when looking at the owners guide for dual suspension they show that the stroke on a Giant Reign should be 2.00? Would putting a 2.25 stroke on it work?

Hey man, did you figured this out? I have a 2012 Reign 1 (Reign 1 (2012) | Giant Bicycles | United States) but I cannot find the Shox length on Giants Reign page. I want to change my original RockShox monarch shox to a Monarch Plus but realized there are different lengths on the market (7.875 x 2.25, 200x57 etc).

At this point I want to switch to a length that is the same as my original shox since I am comfortable with my setup but since I cannot find / figure out what is my original shox length I cannot purchase a new shox (I dont wanna but a shox that will not fit into my bike)

Can anyone tell me what is the shox length of 2012 Reign 1 length? will 7.875 x 2.25 fit onto my giant Reign? Any information you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

You have 7.875x2/200x50 same thing. Reign X has 7.875x2.25/200x57

Hey Thanks a lot, that gave me some closure, I can see 200x51 on my RS Monarch so at least now I know 2012 Reign 1 has 7.875x2 shock length, so I will be looking at 7.875x2 shocks since I dont want to play with the geometry just yet.

One more question about Reign rear shock selection, I am looking at different options like Cane Creek, Fox CTD, RC etc and a friend of mine told me If I want to buy a shox I need to buy a version specifically made for Reigns, he said top Bore end should be 15mm and not 20mm like the other bikes since Reigns have a different measurement for that (see the attached screenshot):

Now this means even if I find the shock brand/model I want and I know the length I want, still I need to consider a special version made for Reigns (with 15mm bore ends not 20mm). Now at this point this is getting super confusing for me since no online store offers shocks for specific bike models/years.

He also shared this screenshot with me to make his point:

Is this theory true?? This means if I have to change my shock I need to maybe special order it from a distributer/factory since reigns have a different top bore end then other bike models?

You guys are familiar with Reigns so let me know please how you guys buy your shocks? Is this something I need to worry about?
