    Giant OverDrive 2

hi i want to change the stem on my 2012 Anthem X29er 1 which has the OverDrive 2 headtube (1 1/4-inch top and 1 1/2-inch bottom). so are there any stems available already to fit the 1 1/4-inch size steerer tube?

my medium anthem 29 comes with a giant 90mm stem and i want to change it to maybe an 80 or 70mm. wanted to get a thomson stem so i can match with a thomson seatpost too.

It would be hard this year.
As far as I know only Giant, Syntace and FSA offers 1 1/4. Ritchey ofers OEM stuff for Canyon, and I found on some other forum that he'll offer it in 2013.

This is a very dumb standard. I feel youir pain. I think Giant make great bikse, but would not buy one due to this.

Note that the headtube of the frame is identical for overdrive and overdrive 2. Only difference is top headset bearings and upper fork shaft. So, you can change to std tapered fork by swapping top headset...

Give it a year. Either everyone will be using it, or it will die. The fork companies are driving this a much as the bike companies in the quest for stronger, lighter products.

yes i noticed that actually but i don't want to have to change my fork and top headset. i just want a shorter stem. im happy with everything else. i don't think it would be easy to sell a 29er fork with a 1 1/4" inch top steerer either.
